Guest Star

Guest Star was born from a simple premise. One day, I had a thought: what if I wrote something with an incredibly low entry point for production? What would it look like? Something that would eliminate all the very valid reasons not to do something. It would need minimal actors and no locations. It would have to be shot on my iPhone, with no crew. What story could I tell within those parameters?
I thought, “auditions are kind of like that. What if I wrote and shot some auditions?” And that’s how Guest Star was born. It’s the story of an actor named Richard Michael Karn.
